Denzel Washington teams with sibling filmmakers Albert and Allen Hughes (“Menace II Society”) to put twists on the premise of surviving in a post-apocalyptic world in this moody drama.
Washington plays the title character, a loner who possesses a book holding the keys to the continuation of mankind … and guarding the tome in a time of rampant unrest proves quite a challenge. Gary Oldman plays the main nemesis in a cast that also includes Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson and Jennifer Beals (“Flashdance”). DVD extras: “making-of” documentary; deleted scenes.
This weeks Girl Crush has been around since the 70s … well, sort of. Mila Kunis may have fooled the casting directors of “That 70’s Show” when she was just fourteen (she told them she was older!), but she has definitely proved her acting capabilities and her staying power since. Her guts even as a teenager are just one reason she’s landed as our Girl Crush this week.
Why else? Well, she lends her voice to the controversial but equally discriminating and hilarious TV series “Family Guy.” She broke onto the big screen, showing us her acting chops in movies such as, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and most recently providing a cameo (in which she MAKES OUT WITH James Franco!!) in, “Date Night.”
Her comedic ability is something that we adore! And so is her boyfriend, Macaulay Culkin. This low-key Hollywood couple has been together since 2002, which is a lifetime in Hollywood years.
One of the films we’re most excited for this year is Darren Aronofsky’s “Black Swan,” especially considering its starring two of our favorite leading ladies, Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis (who may or may not get involved onscreen!). But “Black Swan” is also starring one of the luckiest men in Hollywood right now, Sebastian Stan.
There little information known about Sebastian’s character (he doesn’t even have a name on IMDB). So when MTV got a chance to chat with him recently (yeah, we can talk about his questionable hair do in the video at a later point in time), he was willing to share some details on his character. Unfortunately, he went about it in a very roundabout way.
“It’s kind of like your guy that if you go into a Manhattan bar on a Friday night, and you see a couple of guys and they had like maybe long weeks, and then they go out and they’re hoping to have a night or whatever and they end up like stumbling into a crazy storyline between two girls,” he explained about his character.
He added that he and the other guys his characters are friends with “kind of get wrapped up in it for a while,” and that “technically” he is one of the romantic interests for Natalie Portman’s and Mila Kunis’ characters.

News are being pretty slow lately but here are two new articles about Mila’s next upcoming project, Black Swan. Co-star Natalie Portman tells Aceshowbiz about a lesbian scene she will do with Mila in the movie.
After avoiding nudity in the past when shooting short film “Hotel Chevalier”, Natalie Portman is forced to do another raunchy scene as she will be seen having same-sex sequence with Mila Kunis in “Black Swan”. Recently, the actress admitted that she had to struggle with her nerves before shooting the said part, saying “I was terrified. At the moment I lived in a state of inner terror.”
Also, in an interview with Fear Network, the director of the movie talks about where they are in shooting and a little about Mila’s role in the movie.
Can you talk a little bit about Black Swan? Can you talk about what stage of production you’re at?
Fischer: It’s shooting right now. It’s in production, we’re getting kind of toward the end of photography. It’s shooting here in New York City. (I’ll probably pop by the set – Mike and I are gonna go by before we head off to Europe.) It’s going great. The dailies look amazing; it’s Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman [both pictured above on set] and Mila Kunis.
What do you think it offers thriller fans?
Fischer: It takes a very kind of dark and disturbing journey – in this case Natalie plays a ballerina who has dreams of becoming a star. And she gets that opportunity, and there’s a lot of elements that play out for her, where she starts to wonder if she’s gonna be basically undercut by somebody else, by Mila Kunis’s character in the film. So you’re not sure how much of it is paranoia, how much of it is reality. She starts to work through some of that as the twists and turns start coming. It’s a very cool piece.
Remember the interview Mila did with Craig Ferguson in which she said she loved Jersey Shore so much? Here is the movie version of the MTV show in which we can see Mila as Snooki. Screen captures can be found in the gallery. Enjoy!
